deckdrill for Mac and Windows
The same studio in its own window. It loads the live site, so it's always up to date and needs an internet connection, plus a few things a browser tab can't do:
- Save drills as MP3s spoken by your computer's own voices, free and with no voice key.
- Send to Anki works without touching AnkiConnect's CORS settings.
- Drills and decks save through your system's own Save dialog.
- Its own window and Dock or taskbar icon, with your keys kept in the app.

Opening it the first time
The app isn't signed with an Apple or Microsoft developer certificate yet, so your computer will ask you to confirm once.
Mac
- Open the .dmg and drag deckdrill into Applications.
- Open deckdrill. If macOS says it can't verify the developer, click Done.
- Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway next to deckdrill.
Windows
- Run deckdrill-Setup.exe.
- If you see “Windows protected your PC”, click More info, then Run anyway.
- deckdrill installs for your user only and opens straight away; it's in the Start menu after that.
Sending to Anki
Install the AnkiConnect add-on in Anki (Tools → Add-ons → Get Add-ons, code 2055492159) and keep Anki open. Unlike in a browser, no CORS settings are needed.
